World Kundapura Kannada Day Celebration in Gurukula School

The internationally recognized Kundapura Kannada Day was meaningfully celebrated by the students of the senior section of Vakwady Gurukula School. Kundapura explained the ill effects of excessive use of mobiles to everyone through a short drama based on a story in Kundapura language. In addition, various songs, dances, speeches based on Kundapura language and Bundara’s rituals, the importance of special ingredients prepared in the month of Ashada, were presented to everyone in the taste of their language. Mrs. Lata Shetty, amateur writer, Satwadi, who arrived as the chief guest for the program, said in her guest speech that although there are different Kannada languages, Kundapura Kannada language is getting a lot of pride these days. It is not a language, it is the life of Kundapura people, so it is our mother tongue, and we should respect, love and preserve this language. He said that the work is being done by the Gurukula institution and it is really commendable that the children are being made aware of our customs along with education.

The program was presided over by the Joint Executive of Gurukula Vidyasirshana Smt. Anupama Shetty wished the students that Kundapra language is our pride and we will save and develop it together. On this occasion, school principal Mr. Mohan.K teachers and students were present. The program was narrated by Ms. Himani and Sanvi, Hon. Welcoming Kshitij, Mr. Sanchit thanked him. Guest introduction was done by Ms. Chinmayi.
