On 30th December 2023, Gurukula Public School Vakwady held Parents - teachers meeting for the parents of KG to class X.
Dr. Virupaksha Devaramane, Psychiatrist, Dr. A .V Baliga Memorial Hospital Udupi was invited as the resource person to guide the teachers and the parents regarding issues and challenges in modern day parenting.
Many parents showed interest and have attended the meeting enthusiastically. Mrs. Srividya , Coordinator of the Preparatory Stage welcomed the gathering. The Principal, Mr. Mohan K thanked the parents for their active participation and support in all the programmes and he had clarified the intension behind arranging the meeting.
Ms. Sakshitha, TGT introduced the Chief Guest to the audience.
Dr. Virupaksha Devaramane shared his abundant knowledge with the parents and teachers and gave some tips to become the good parents. He advised the parents to be happy and respectful to each other infront of the child, do attend the child every day, spend some quality time with the children, make them to feel safe and secure with you, be the good listeners and try to build confidence among them to face any problem in life. He told let the action of the parents teach the child how to behave in society not the words.
He gave awareness regarding new problems of the children in this technological era and how to tackle such problems without harming child's feelings. Every child is unique. Every child's talent is unique and every child's problem is unique. Never compare the child with another child. He told a father, a mother and a teacher can do wonders in the life a child. Hence all the three should work hand in hand to shape the character and behaviour of the child .
It was an eye opening session for both parents and the teachers. It made everyone to think about their actions and behaviour with their children.
Mrs. Anupama S Shetty made presidential speech and told it's a peak time to arrange such programmes. We are in need of someone to give solution to our problems and show the right path to move on. She thanked the resource person for his valuable speech.
Mrs. Mamatha K V, TGT thanked everyone for their active participation and support and Ms. Nagarathna, TGT was the master of the ceremony.
