We hosted the most awaited 18th annual sports meet on 18th November 2023 at Gurukula ground.
The morning was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. Annual sports meet was held for both the school and college students.
On the special day, Smt.Rashmi S R ( KAS) Assistant Commissioner and Sub divisional Magistrate, Kundapura was our chief guest.
The programme commenced with the arrival of highly distinguished chief guest at 9:00 a.m. The Joint Managing Trustees Mr. Subhashchandra Shetty and Mrs. Anupama S Shetty, Mr. Avinash, the Principal of Gurukula PU College, Mr. Mohan K, the Principal of Gurukula Public school escorted the chief guest to the dias.
The chief guest inaugurated the sports meet by hoisting the institution flag. Master Dhawal S Shetty, SPL took the permission from the chief guest to begin the March past. All the four houses did the glorious and well synchronised march past which was well appreciated by the chief guest.
No programme can ever take place without seeking the blessings of God. Hence a special opening prayer was offered by the students of Gurukula Public School.
Mr. Nagesh, the PU Lecturer welcomed everyone and introduced the chief guest. The Joint Managing Trustee Mrs. Anupama S Shetty welcomed the chief guest with the lovely bouquet.
The chief guest lightened the sports fire which was carried by the students who have participated in various inter School sports competitions and grabbed the prizes at different levels. The chief guest received the sports fire and wished for success of the event.
Master Shreyas Gowda the sports captain of the school led the oath taking ceremony.
The chief guest addressed the gathering and inspired the students by giving an example of the Hungarian shooter Karley Takacs who lost his right hand but still grabbed medals in Olympics with his left hand. She motivated the students and advised them to never give up at any situation.

Mr Mohan K , the Principal of Gurukula Public School escorted the chief guest to the plat form and the chief guest released the balloons and symbolically declared the 18th Annual sports meet of 2023.
Mrs Vishala Shetty , the Student welfare officer escorted the chief guest to the victory stand and the chief guest distributed prizes to the nursery students who won in different games.
Most entertaining and fascinating part of the event was Karate demonstration and Aerobics involving mass students participation. It was just wonderful to experience.
Aryabhata House in school level emerged as Group Champions in this academic year. Exciting games were conducted for the parents in the afternoon.
Mrs Sumalatha TGT proposed the vote of thanks and concluded the inaugural ceremony.
